Wow what a job everyone did today at the field to improve the varsity softball field and the Shavey north softball field.
We had 30 people participate today which enabled us to get a tremendous amount of work done. Wait till you see how different the field is. Great job everyone.
A special shout out to the following people:
- Teri Reyburn - great job painting the panther head and spending a whole lot of time at the field
- Coach Church - spent his anniversary, a considerable amount of the day, at the field - a special thank you to your wife as well.
- Coach Lotoszinski - thanks for the considerable help with the afternoon shift
- Varsity players: Michelle, Ciara, Kristen, Andrea, Kaylie, Dani, Amanda, Lizzy and Anna (the majority of whome who were there from 8am-3:00pm working hard)
- Parents from 14 varsity players, 1 junior varsity parent, and 10 youth (U8-U12) softball parents
- And a special big shout out to Matt Stehouwer and Mike Lee who not only were at the field today from 8am-6:30pm but were also at the field on Friday from 4:30-9pm. You guys rock!
- 14U girls that showed up to help with painting the dugouts and raking the outfield and overcoming their fear of worms to work in the dirt!
- DYBSA picked up the tab for nearly $1,600 worth of materials.
- All the DYBSA folks that came out.
- John Lance for the use of his truck, trackor and rolling the fields.
- Hammond Farms, Ace Hardware, and Sunbelt rentals for going above and beyond in order to get the materials and equipment. Please spread the word about these hometown businesses.
